What we do

Khoza Mgojo Archive Collection

Housed at the Rev Dr. Simon Gqubule Archive Room of the Seth Mokitimi Methodist Seminary Library is the Khoza Mgojo Archive. Through the generous donation of Mgojo family, the Centre received a donation of the late Rev Khoza E. Mgojo’s library for archiving within the auspices of the Centre. A significant part of the work of the Centre has been to appraise and catalogue the contents of the Dr Mgojo’s documents and archive them for future research on the life and work of Dr Mgojo. Dr Mgojo was a Methodist minister who served the Methodist church of Southern Africa and South Africa at large in various capacities, with his most notable contribution being a deputy commissioner of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. The Khoza Mgojo collection presents a fresh archive for researchers on transitional justice and all aspects relating to the TRC. The Centre encourages researchers and all those who have an interest in similar research to consult the archives and produce knowledge that can deepen our understandings of the notions of reconciliation and restorative justice that have fundamentally shaped the social context of South African society.
